Legal updates, 11 April 2022
Inspections of public areas
On April 11, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued an order titled “On measures to organize the work on identification of risks of emergencies and accidents that may occur and elimination of deficiencies in all types of public service areas and retail facilities” (hereinafter, the “Order”).
According to the Order, inspections will be carried out at all types of facilities listed below to ensure compliance with fire, radiation and technical safety rules:
- In temporary accommodation buildings, including dormitories, hotels, sanatoriums, guest houses, camps, motels, etc.
- In all social facilities, hospitals, educational institutions, etc., regardless of ownership forms
- In the buildings of organizations engaged in entertainment, cultural and educational activities (theaters, cinemas, concert halls, museums, etc.)
- In all retail points serving the general population (shopping centers, cafes, restaurants, etc.).
Such inspections will be carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan together with the representatives of the Ministry of Energy, local executive authorities, “Azerigas” PA and “Azerishig” OJSC within 6 months from the date of the Order.
